After we take the trash OUT, we need to go shopping for the good stuff. What you INCLUDE in your diet is more important than what you EXCLUDE. I recently led a group of diabetics wanting to take back their health and came up with a list of foods in the different sections of our local grocery store called Sprouts. What I love about this store is that you can see all the different sections from the front of the store and they mostly focus on selling real food and not confusing shoppers with thousands of options of packaged and processed substances labeled as food. You can find lots of choices of organic produce priced competitively so its easier to make the right choice.
Realizing that this is a work in progress, we came up with an initial draft of shopping list and healthy power-foods and super-foods with the help of their excellent staff.

i try to keep it simple and getting even simpler. eat fish, veggies, berries, tree nuts, eggs. exclude everything else.
I’m just starting out with your program and still have a lot to learn! I notice that you list almond butter vs. peanut butter. Is that because tree nuts have healthier fats? Is natural peanut butter (ingredients: peanuts & sea salt) a big no no?
Thanks!
Hi, ??? Bitter Melon’s powerful insulin lowering properties are currently being looked at an effective treatment for Diabetes. Studies suggest the Bitter Melon may play a roll in controlling the production of insulin by the body, thus promoting blood sugar control. What are your thoughts?
Neeraj,
In an ever increasingly complicated world, thank you for keeping, at least the diet part of our life, so simple.

You are welcome, Jennifer!
